The Joggin’ for Frogmen running team was created by the girlfriend of a Navy SEAL, to run in the Travis Manion Foundation’s “9/11 Heroes Run” in September 2011. The team ran in honor of her boyfriend, who was away at training, the 31 Heroes who were killed on the Extortion 17 helicopter crash on August 6, 2011, in Afghanistan, and all of the Navy SEALs and Special Operators at war.
The “Joggin’ for Frogmen” idea quickly turned into an event. The first 5k was held in San Diego on Sunday, July 29th, 2012, one week before the first anniversary of the Extortion 17 crash on August 6th, 2011. Participants of the 1st annual event ran in honor of these 31 fallen American Warriors.
Since July 2012, Joggin’ for Frogmen races in San Diego, Pittsburgh and Oahu have raised over $172,000 for our partnering organizations. We hope you will jog with us to support our mission and to continue helping our military families.
